Harrison Trebuchet UFR Rod 13ft 4.3lb

The ones we have are built like the first photo. They have 50mm butt guides with ceramic inserts and silver accent threads.

UFR stands for Ultra Fast Recovery as that is the characteristic of the blank. During the cast, after release of the lead, the tip quickly returns to the straight position with very little bounce for better ring alignment during the leads flight. This helps with line flow. Harrison achieved this by lightening the tip and stiffening the top of the butt. The butt is a little different to other Trebuchets in that Harrison have replaced 3k weave with 1k weave as part of weight optimisation. There is no weave on the tip but on the inside there is an increase in the off axis reinforcement at 45 degrees which makes the tip resist twisting during the cast.

The starting point for this rod was the Aviator TE which has been the benchmark for distance and reliability for the last three years. A no-compromise beast of a rod that has set records.

Harrison took this design and fine tuned it to improve tip recovery speed by reducing tip weight and using different fibres. After a lead is released it comes back to the straight position in an instant, giving a straight path for the line to flow and helping with distance.
The overall power is the similar to the TE at full compression but the action is a fraction faster as a result of the stiffened mid rod zone.
